When planning a family reunion, you will want to make sure that you have sufficient entertainment to keep the family busy and having fun. You can get these relatively cheap at any trophy store. Ribbons are another good, cheap way of commemorating each event. You can have them printed up relatively cheap as well, and they can say things like “First place winner” on the button portion and then have “Smith family reunion 2006” on the ribbon portions. Fun things like this will not only make participants want to participate, but it will also give them a keepsake to commemorate the event.
Games are always a fun family reunion activity. You can place a game of “guess that baby” where you ask each member to bring a current picture, as well as a baby picture of themselves, or various deceased family members to the event. And you can have a bulletin board where you must match the modern picture with the baby picture of the same person. This can be fun as a getting to know you type game, for those family members which may not be familiar with each other, or who could be extended family or members that have been adopted or married into the family.
